It's been a long while since I've been able to jot anything down. I've got a few minutes now, so it seems a good time to catch up. So much has been happening, it's difficult to find a place to begin.
Amyla and I have left Blackburne, taking Riley and what few belongings we could pack into the 'Bug and hitting the black. We started getting a bit nervous with all that's happened with the Wecan Group--that's what Xerox called the men who hired him, anyhow. We figured that if Xerox could find us so easily, and Selphie after him, it'd be just a matter of time before they sent someone that maybe wouldn't find a reason to help us rather than bring us in.
We'll still be having a meeting with the Wecan Group people, but on our terms, not theirs. Xerox has arranged a meeting place and will be acting as mediator, while Selphie (who has turned out to be not such a bad lady after all) is going to act as muscle, keeping Amy and Riley out of harm's way.
Anyhow, we've been living in the 'Bug now for about a week. On the one hand it's great, spending more time with my family rather than being off in the Wastes all the time, leaving Amyla to worry on me and care for Riley by herself. On the other hand, it's a cramped space and we miss setting foot on solid ground. We've set down at Serenity Station for a time and that's been nice, good folks there. But even there, there's trouble brewing between the locals and the Alliance men there. We stay for a little while now and then, but mainly we keep flying and waiting for Xerox to contact us for the big meeting.
Once that happens and we feel safer, maybe we'll find a place to settle.
